1997-98: Joseph played in 71 games for the Edmonton Oilers last season posting a record of 29-31-9 with a 2.63 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. Joseph also set career-highs last season with 8 shutouts and 4,132 minutes played.

He finished 3rd amongst N.H.L. goaltenders in games played, minutes played, tied for 4th in shutouts, and tied for 11th in wins.

One of three goaltenders selected to represent Team Canada at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. He also played in 12 of the 13 Oiler playoff games last season posting a record of 5-7. The 3 shutouts recorded by Joseph in the 1998 Stanley Cup Playoffs ranked him 2nd - behind only Cup finalist Olaf Kolzig. Joseph's 1.93 goals against average in the 1998 Playoffs also ranked him 2nd among goaltenders.

Career: 1996-97: Won the Oiler's Most Valuable Player and Most Popular Player Awards... won the Molson Cup as he finished first in the three star balloting... posted a 32-29-9 record with a 2.93 GAA and a .903 save pct. in a career best 72 games... recorded a 2.82 GAA, a .911 save pct. and 2 shutouts during the 1997 Stanley Cup Playoffs. 1995-96: Obtained by Edmonton from St. Louis on Aug. 4, 1995 but did not sign with the Oilers until Jan. 11, 1996... made his Edmonton debut on Jan. 13/96 vs. Buffalo

He won the Chrysler Canada Award as the Top First Year Oiler... earned a Silver Medal with Team Canada at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and was the leading goaltender with a 2.31 GAA

He earned a silver medal with Team Canada at 1996 IIHF World Championships in Vienna, Austria and was named to the tournament's second all-star team with a 1.76 GAA in seven games. 1993-94: Set career-high in wins (36) with St. Louis... faced an N.H.L. record 2,382 shots. 1992-93: Finished third in Vezina Trophy balloting. 1988-89: Signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Blues on June 16, 1989 (never selected in the NHL entry draft)... named to the WCHA first all-star team with a 2.49 GAA and a 21-11-5 record with U. of Wisconsin.
